Cameron Leslie, Founder of fabric and matter, will be joining us on our Good Ideas in Design panel at the PSFK Good Ideas Salon London. Along with Kate Moross, Nicolas Roope of Hulger/Poke, Coralie Bickford-Smith of Penguin, and moderator Amanda Gore of PSFK, they will touch upon how design can weave a story between an audience and a product, service and brand.
First, who are you and what do you do?
I’m Cameron Leslie, Managing Director and founding partner (along with Keith Reilly) of fabric and matter. Fabric the club opened in October 1999, in that time we have showcased over 2,000 acts/artists/DJ’s and have welcomed over 5 million people. We started Fabric Records in Nov. 2001 and the Music Publishing arm in 2005. In September 2007 we opened our second venue in London ‘matter’ – a 2,700 capacity purpose built music venue for both live music and club events. It is a unique space with entirely bespoke state of the art sound and lighting installations.
You’ll be sharing your ideas on our Good Ideas in Design panel. In one paragraph, can you explain what themes and ideas you hope to touch upon during the discussion?
Like to be able to share my experiences of creating a number of businesses which have tried to be at the forefront of showcasing music. The importance of creating a visual association with the brands, the technological concepts & developments and where we pushing things…
