Jeremy Ettinghausen, Director of Digital at Penguin will be speaking on our “Collaboration & Creative Evolution” panel at the PSFK Good Ideas Salon London. Along with Sophie Howarth of The School of Life, Pat Connor of BBC, and moderator Colin Nagy of PSFK / Attention, the panel will discuss how collaborative creation results in better businesses and ideas.

First, who are you and what do you do?

As Digital Publisher at Penguin Books I am responsible for examining and developing new methods, technologies and business opportunities for Penguin to promote, sell and distribute the works of our authors. In the past these have included projects such as Penguin Remixed, the Million Penguins wikinovel and most recently the digital writing project We Tell Stories.

You’ll be sharing your ideas on Collaboration and Creative Evolution panel. In one paragraph, can you explain what themes and ideas you hope to touch upon during the discussion?

There are many interesting people out there doing many interesting things and only a small proportion of them are involved in the publishing industry. Collaboration then is vital for us if we are to learn from other businesses and industries as it brings new ideas, new technologies and new thinking into what until recently has been a very traditional business.
