ArtCade: Retro Arcade Machine Acts as Interface for New Magazine

By Nicko Margolies on July 13, 2009

The ArtCade is a new 3D Flash interface designed to present the first issue of Kult Magazine within the confines of a retro video game machine.  The control panel will be familiar to gamers from the era of Pac Man and Space Invaders, but the content is a collection of modern graphic art, illustration, photography and personal vignettes from an international group of artists.

Kult is a creative agency based in Singapore and hopes to raise awareness of great artists both locally and internationally.  The first issue of the magazine focuses on the notion of “Trust” and features more than 50 artists from 20 countries.  The ArtCade design is certainly a compelling start for this creative team and Kult promises to curate everything from themed exhibitions to online artistic discussions.
