Firefox Plugin Tracks Time and Money Wasted Surfing the Net at Work

9 to 5 Brow$er is a conceptual Firefox plugin created by Evan Roth that would calculate how much company money you’re wasting while surfing the internet at work.  Simply enter your salary or hourly wage and the little plugin will create a running tally of money lost, though it is ultimately a “positive feedback mechanism for wasting company time.”

Of course, for those of us whose job requires you to be online, this addition doesn’t really apply, but the playful concept is kind of scary if you considered a company quietly rolling this out system-wide and taking the difference out of your salary.  Currently, the plugin is meant for personal use and even includes a kill button to quickly remove all evidence of your time wasting habits.
