iSnack 2.0- Iconic Aussie Spread Gets a Makeover

Kraft, the manufacturers of the Iconic Australian spread Vegemite have recently released a spin-off version of the yeast-based product. To name the new cream cheese-vegemite blend, Kraft ran a competition, with the resulting name officially announced during last weekend’s Australian Football League Grand Final.  From the 48, 000 entries, Kraft hopes ‘iSnack 2.0‘ will bring the Australian long-time favourite into pantries of the younger iPod/phone-Apple-consumer generation.

Like Vanilla Coke and Fanta Cherry, changes to many long-time favourites often meet with large contention.  Only four days  after Kraft’s iSnack 2.0 announcement and Australian t-shirt company Epicfailstore.com have already released their view on the product;

It will be interesting to see Kraft’s response to the online banter, with some bloggers already touting iSnack 2.0 as the lamest name ever.
