(Pics) Sofa Transforms into Luggage Set

By Dan Gould on October 23, 2009

Observing the common behavior of sitting on luggage while in transit, Erik De Nijs created a set of suitcases that can be combined into a two person sofa. The set consists of two full size, and two carry-on sized bags, all covered in a different fabric that would look at home on any couch.

De Nijs explains his thinking behind the project:

This concept came from a research on nostalgia during travelling. When a familiar object from home is taken with you on a trip you feel much more at ease. And which object is more familiar then your own comfortable couch.
