Modular Sofa By Maison Martin Margiela
Maison Martin Margiela presented an interesting furniture design concept at this year’s Salone De Mobile design week in Milan. The fashion house, who heavily uses white in their apparel and retail design, partnered with Cerruti Baleri to create a sofa made from the structure of three different chairs.
The Groupe sofa is composed of three elements covered in a linen fabric and built on an internal plywood structure with CFC-free polyurethane foam, shaped from block, featuring different densities of the material. The ‘seats’ beneath the fabric can also be removed so that the sofa can be converted to a two seater or even a single seat.
