Evisu creative director Scott Morrison has tapped designer Catherine Holstein to envision the brand’s first women’s clothing collection for the US market.
There are few people in fashion and retail you can describe as having the Midas touch, but if ever there was one it would be new Evisu CEO and Creative Director Scott Morrison. Morrison, who boasts an impressive resume including co-founder of both Paper, Denim & Cloth and Earnest Sewn, could be said by many to be a pioneer of the contemporary luxury jeans movement. However, not content to simply revamp the Evisu Jeans men’s line- Morrison has tapped wunderkind designer Catherine Holstein to envision the brand’s first women’s clothing collection for the US market. Additionally, the Evisu women’s denim line is helmed by Ben Smith (formerly of Helmut Lang, Rag & Bone, and Earnest Sewn) and will be available at exclusive retailers like Fred Segal, Kitson, Ron Herman and Henry Lehr. The new line is sleek, minimal, and elegant- which is a refreshing take from other recent jeans lines who seem to have equated “women’s” with trashy, or a complete aesthetic departure.
