Monetary incentives and green ideals may help us become more comfortable with devices tracking our habits.

Green Goose is a system of wireless sensor devices that track daily behaviors like a rider’s biking habits or a user’s shower water consumption. These sensors sync with a web-based service that transfers money from a user’s checking account to their savings account to incentivize better behavior. The web application tracks detailed behaviors over time, assigning points to good behaviors that help feed into another level of motivation for green living. As another entrant into the points/game-mechanics sphere, Green Goose will help shape the way we perceive devices as tools to passively monitor our activities, in hopes of guiding better lifestyle decisions.
