(Pic) Wireless Pickpocketing

My US Green Card was recently updated and I was sent a new one. I thought that the US Department of Homeland Security warning on the little wallet that came with it was interesting:

We recommend use of this envelope to protect your new card and prevent wireless communication with it.

Does that mean any of my cards can be scanned – or does the extra large strip on the back of my Green Card make it more of a risk?

Upcoming Events

  • Piers - your new Green Card has an RFID chip in it, so unless the rest of your cards also have RFIDS, it alone is susceptible to wireless communication.
