Review: The Apple Store App
Now you can buy your favorite tech anywhere, anytime.
Apple has released its own application for its online store. It’s a simple to use service that allows for product purchase straight from the app. It also looks like any product can be purchased through your iTunes account (which it already knows when you download the app).
There’s a nice touch of transparency with the way the app works: the tech company doesn’t seem to be too shy in showing user reviews and ratings. the The app does a nice job of upselling you services, peripherals and software for the items in your cart. Extra features includes local store services like reserve your iPhone 4 or theater events listings.
Users can also book a reservation for the multiple features including genius bar and personal shopping. The system will then check for a time at the stores close to you.
What makes this app stand out is the simple drive to make sales. There’s no added content or entertainment to distract. Apple (AAPL) also have the advantage in that by having an iPhone you automatically have an iTunes account which most probably has a credit card attached to it. In the way it is used here, iTunes feels like the the new PayPal.
