Google And CIA Invest In Web Monitoring Service That Predicts The Future

By Naresh Kumar on July 30, 2010

Wired has an exclusive story on Google and the CIA funding a company that monitors the Internet in real time to predict the future. Recorded Future is a Massachusetts based startup that has developed a ‘Temporal Analytics Engine’ which scours the web for events, places and people and uses its artificial intelligence algorithms to spot events and trends early. Google’s investment division Google Ventures and CIA’s In-Q-Tel invested around $10 million each in the company in 2009 but it was publicly revealed only this year.
