The rumors of Yahoo shutting down many of its services is spreading like wild fire on the web, thanks to a leaked photo from the company’s recent meeting. Some of its major Internet properties that will be closed down are search engine AltaVista, MyBlogLog and Yahoo Buzz, all of which have been termed as “underperforming or off-strategy products” by the company. But Yahoo’s decision to pull the plug from Delicious too comes as a real surprise as it still has a large user base, with people storing hundreds of bookmarks using its social bookmarking service.

With features like easy storing of bookmarks and sharing them with others, Delicious became one of the leading bookmarking sites on the web and not surprisingly, its users have created an uproar on the Internet, with several of them frantically looking for ways to export their bookmarks to other services such as Diigo and Instapaper.
