Robotic Plant With Motion-Sensing Leaves [Video]

Akira Nakayasu's interactive, artificial plant reacts to human gestures.

Japanese visual designer Akira Nakayasu has created a robotic plant that contains over a hundred artificial leaves that respond to human touch. “The Plant”, which was displayed at Ars Electronic 2010 and takes inspiration from grass blowing in the wind, has each of its leaves react and move independently to different gestures.
