The eyeglasses industry is about to see its first “transformational innovation” in decades due to Dr. Ronald Blum and his company, PixelOptics.

Their innovation is named emPower, the world’s first pair of glasses with auto-focusing lenses.

The lenses solve a longstanding problem: some people typically need separate pairs of glasses for reading up-close (farsightedness) and performing normal tasks (nearsightedness). emPower solves this problem using enhanced bifocals, which house microchips, accelerometers and rechargeable batteries. This allows users to simply tap emPower glasses on the side of the frame to enable/disable reading power depending on the vision distance required for a task.
