German designers Rogge & Pott drop an April Fool's concept design on the world that has inspired a conversation about making it a reality.

Photographers were promised a digital revolution for their analog cameras. A digital cartridge was unveiled that fits into every 35mm camera, you simply slot it into the film compartment and pull out the patented ‘Flexisensor’ that captures the hi-res images. It even boasted USB connectivity for recharging and transferring your photos and built-in software on the cartridge. Sounds too good to be true?

Well this all turned out to be an elaborate April Fools Day joke by German designers Rogge & Pott, who created a slick website with genuine-looking products and descriptions. In a press release they say they were surprised by the enormous response this has received.

The joke has had a lasting effect, with many wondering why this can’t become a reality, and lots of people still unaware that it is a fake product. Excited photographers are still tweeting links to the website, as it hasn’t been taken down and there is no notice to say it is a leftover April Fool.
