A popular short film for kids is transformed into an interactive storytelling experience for Apple's tablet.

Moonbot Studios, a multi-platform company specializing in storytelling, has recently unveiled a narrative app of “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore,” a short film by author-illustrator William Joyce and co-director Brandon Oldenburg.

The film won the San Jose’s CINEQUEST Festival’s “Best Animated Short Film Award” and Cleveland International Film Festival’s “Best Animated Short Film Award.” Available for $4.99 in iTunes, the app presents an alternative storytelling experience by blending together elements of animated films and allows the reader to animate each page with the touch of their finger. Watch the video below:
