The location-based service hopes to gain revenue from remarketing coupon deals.
Foursquare will soon begin making daily deals available to its 10 million users, after partnering with sites such as LivingSocial, Gilt Groupe and others. It is also in talks about a similar arrangement with Groupon. The company will be passing out coupon deals from these marketing partners and taking a piece of the revenue for those it sells. Despite its growing user numbers, Foursquare had yet to monetize its service very effectively so this could be a big step forward for the location-based app.
