After just recently unveiling their newest foray into social networking via the invite only Google+, Google has now also introduced a new YouTube redesign that anyone has the opportunity to test run.
The redesign, which is known as “Cosmic Panda,” offers a sleeker alternative to the original format and it allows for more customization with pages and channels. Instead of the traditional white interface, the new video screen has a darker, theatrical appearance that takes up more of the page space. By pushing browsing options, such as related videos, comments and channels to the bottom half of the page it places more focus on the actual video being played at the top of the screen.
One of the more interesting new features, available only to Chrome users, is the ability to keep a video playing while still browsing through channels and pages.
