Online coupon provider Valpak has launched Valpak Deals, a smartphone application that uses the Junaio software to deliver proximity based deals with the help of augmented reality. After downloading the free app, users need only look through their phones’ viewfinders to visually display deals over their surrounding environments. As local deals pop-up on the screen, people can obtain the coupons instantly through Valpak’s website. To redeem, shoppers simply present the retailer with the discount as it appears on their phone’s screen; no coupon clipping or printing required.
