The Acure vending machine uses a facial recognition software to recommend which beverage a customer should buy. The digital touchscreen display features a mounted camera that recognizes the sex and approximate age of the individual approaching the device, and uses this data to make beverage recommendations.

The concept’s software features the additional capacity to match advertising imagery with the time of day, temperature, and season. Currently, only one machine is being tested in Tokyo, Japan, but the company plans to roll out 500 units by the end of 2012.
