Square’s Card Case App Lets You Pay With Only Your Name

Square Card Case allows you to start a tab at participating merchant stores and pay by just stating your name at checkout.

The Square Card Case app allows you to pay for goods and services without using money or a credit card – you just need to state your name when you’re at the checkout of any business. If the local merchant is using the Square Register app and the customer has entered his/her credit card details into the Square account, the user then effectively starts a tab at that store. When the user is ready to check out, the merchant would only need to touch the user’s name on the Square Register app, and the transactions are automatically processed with a digital receipt that is sent to the e-mail address on file.

The Square Card Case is an improvement from the Square Card Holder, which simply converted the headphone jack on a smartphone into a credit card reader. The Square Card Case is now available to download for free on the iPhone and Android phones.
