PSA Peugeot Citroen has unveiled the VELV concept car at the ADEME innovation forum. VELV stands for ‘vehicle eletrique lever de ville’ in French, which roughly means ‘leisure electric vehicle from the city’. This urban car is small and compact and futuristic looking. It only weighs 650 kg, compared to the average weight of a sedan which ranges from 900 to 1,100 kg. The VELV runs on a 8.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 27 PS electric motor. It can hit a top speed of 110 km/h (68 mph) and can travel 100 km (62 miles) on a single charge.

Peugeot hasn’t confirmed production of the VELV but has envisioned the vehicle concept for corporate fleets and rental car companies.
