The recently launched the Vimeo Music Store allows users to find and purchase pre-licensed tunes and songs to use in their videos. With over 45,000 tracks to choose from, the user can search and sort them by tags. The store will be powered by Audiosocket in the backend. An executive from Audiosocket previously explained that:
This is big for artists – the exposure via Vimeo to the film-making community is huge. This also sets up indie filmmakers to finanly tackle one of the greatest challenges out there: to make music licensing easy, accessible, and affordable.
Pricing is $1.99 per track for personal, non-commercial and web use for casual users, while for commercial, web-use licenses for professional users are $98 per track. There are also tracks that can be used for free under the creative commons license.
