Agency Creates First Person Shooter Using Google Street View

A bizarrre mashup created by Pool Worldwide lets you point and shoot in real-world scenarios.

A Dutch creative agency, Pool Worldwide, has created a web app that allows users to go on a killing spree using Google Street View. The app, titled ‘Google Shoot View’, superimposes a hand holding a M4A1 assault rifle on a real-life scenery and gives the user the chance to ‘shoot’ their surroundings. After a shot is fired, nothing really happens except a gun sound effect is played.

Google soon caught onto this mashup app and pulled the plug by blocking Pool from using its Street View service. The teaser video of the ‘game’ is still up and can be viewed below.
