Photo Series Shot From The Back Seat Of Abandoned Cars

By Kyana Gordon on January 30, 2012

Netherlands-based photographer, Alícia Rius, captures beautiful images in her series, “From the Back Seat of My Car.” We see from the back seats, various rusty, abandoned vehicles ravaged by time and reclaimed by nature. The perspective alone is thought-provoking, and we found ourselves captivated by the idea of impermanence as each photograph reveals the beauty of the car’s second life. Speaking about her work, Rius explains:

I did not plan this project. I never looked for these cars, and in fact, I think they found me. I wanted to immortalize their beauty and turn them into something romantic.
