Not for the faint of heart, translucent pavement takes tourists around at 4,690 ft heights in China.
At 4,690 ft (1,430 meters) in the air is a glass walkway, hugging the top of Zhangjiajie Tianmen mountain. The mountain, which is in Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park — five miles south of the Zhangjiajie Village in the Hunan province, is very popular with tourists, and brings many visitors to the site.
The park is known for four wonders: the Tianmen Mountain Cableway, Tongtian Dadao (Avenue Leading to the Sky), Tianmen Cave, and Bonsai Garden on Air. Now, it is home to a work of artistic and architectural awe that invites the daredevil tourist, and rewards with an incredible sightseeing experience. Visitors brave enough can walk around the side of the mountain and gaze down at the terrifying drop below them.
Visitors may want to visit other cultural attractions like the Tianmen Mountain Temple or the Lingquan (Spring of Spiritualism) Temple before venturing out … a little dose of faith never hurts when braving such heights. Check out traveler’s experiences on the Walk of Faith via Tumblr.
