Luxury department store Harrods launched an exclusive collaboration with British designer Paul Smith this week. In an interesting experiment, its 5th floor sports department is hosting his new cycling collection and pop-up concept shop. The installation space features vintage cycle magazines, posters and pictures, and there is a selection of Rapha + Paul Smith cycling jerseys, a capsule collection of bold printed T-shirts and a made-to-order bicycle service from manufacturers Condor, Brompton, Mercian and Paris.
Paul Smith has been a lifelong cycling enthusiast and for this collection he draws reference from his past, while the bright colours, bold graphics and reflective prints give the items a contemporary twist. The jerseys feature quotes and pictures that detail his time as a young cyclist at the Beeston Cycling club, where he started racing. Click through to see pictures of the collection and the pop-up:
