CityDashboard aggregates real-time data for cities around the UK and presents the information on a webpage and map. The project was created by the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at University College London. The dashboard of live feeds displays all sorts of information, including local news, weather, transport, air quality, mood, river levels, and Twitter trends. Small countdown timers show when each feed will be updated.
You can also change to the map view, which lets you see road information signs, images from traffic cameras and other data for your area.
This tool uses data from lots of different sources including the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Twitter, Google, and the BBC. It is currently available for eight UK cities: London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.
