Artist Issues CD With LEGO’s To Build Your Own Case

A clever appropriation to make the physical media release more engaging.

Steven Cowley’s one-man Camp America project released a new CD called ‘Intuition & Dreams’ that includes a bag of 125 LEGO pieces and instructions to build a storage case. Cowley assembled the songs on the album from audio sources as varied as cheap synthesizers bought from charity shops to discarded records found on the street. The LEGO’s are another nod to the lo-fi aesthetics and involve the listener in building their own piece of the album. The Create Digital Music blog spotted this but if LEGO’s aren’t your thing, they also recently covered how to make a simple CD case from folded paper.
