Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute of Silicate Research (ISC) in Germany, have developed a new coating for windows that allows more light in. The coating is said to allow more wavelengths through that can help improve people’s moods and can create a better office environment.

The coating is only 0.1 micrometers thick and won’t effect the heat-insulating properties of the window or its transparency. So far, the ISC has only applied the coating to one side of the window, which has already shown improvements in light transmissivity. By applying the coating to both sides, will result in windows with around 95 percent light transmissivity.
