Celebrity Comedians Raise Money For Malaria Research With Exclusive Videos

Celebrity Comedians Raise Money For Malaria Research With Exclusive Videos

Malarious, a collection of custom-created videos on Malaria can only be watched after donating to charity.

Karen Baker

Raising money for charity has never been this fun.

Thirty celebrities have paired up to create 24 unique videos in a series called ‘Malarious.’ Hosted on College Humor, viewers can only access the video content by donating at least $1 to the non-profit Malaria No More. Actors include The Hunger Games’ Elizabeth Banks, The Hangover’s Ed Helms, Girls’ actress Allison Williams and more. The series starts next Monday 8/27.

The campaign offers a fresh approach to fundraising by locking custom-created content around a topic behind a new form of paywall, one that viewers can feel good about unlocking. As College Humor president of original content, Sam Reich, explains, “This is a whole new model for the way that online charity campaigns can work.” Hopefully it will offer inspiration to many more.
