On initial glance, the AceCamp Flamestick looks like a Popsicle stick, measuring just 9cm long and 6.4mm wide. It’s actually a firestarter, and what’s more surprising is that it’s made from recycled thermoplastic. Thermoplastic is found in everyday products, like drinking bottles, storage containers, beauty packaging, and even LEGO blocks.

A single Flamestick can heat up to 330°C, while a pair of the firestarters can reach temperatures over 426° C. AceCamp claims that each stick can burn for up to five minutes, and its managing director Darko Leo has even used the sticks as cooking fuel to fry eggs. The Flamesticks are definitely a convenient and eco-friendly solution not only at BBQs, but also for campers and backpackers.
