MINI Mexico decided to demonstrate that there’s a time and place for everything as part of a campaign warning women about the dangers of putting makeup on while driving.

Soap dispensers inside public bathrooms were hacked to house an airbag. When women stood next to them to put on their makeup in front of the mirror, the airbag went off suddenly, surprising them.

The airbags were printed with the MINI badge, along with the message “There’s a place for everything. Makeup or drive.” MINI Mexico hopes to improve road safety and perhaps save some of the 1,273 lipsticks it claims are destroyed each year by encouraging women to stop applying makeup while driving.
