Leah Gonzalez

The Stockholm subway system, which runs for a total of 110 km, is dubbed as the world’s longest art exhibit. More than 90 of the 100 metro stations are adorned with various artworks by 150 different artists.

The metro stations host striking murals, sculptures, tiles, art displays and installations dating back to the 1950’s. Some of the artists who contributed to the subway art include Ulrik Samuelson, Per Olof Ultvedt, Erland Melanton, Bengt Edenfalk, Gun Gordillo, Lasse Lindqvist, Anders Åberg and Karl-Olov Björk.
