While surrealist paintings and video games may seem like two worlds that would never meet – one artist has taken it upon themselves to create a fusion between the two.

The work of René Magritte was often described as witty and thought-provoking – his aim was always to challenges the observer’s preconditioned perception of reality.

Super Magritte takes some of the Belgian artist’s most famous paintings and uses characters, artifacts, and backgrounds from the iconic video game Super Mario Bros to recreate them.
