#SANDY is a book of iPhone photos of Hurricane Sandy taken by renowned photographers, capturing the devastation caused in New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut. The collection merges technology, social media and traditional journalism, highlighting the impact of technology in reporting the news.
The photo book will be published by Daylight Books this fall and a special signed collector’s edition ($50) is available from Indiegogo along with the photos, which will be sent out in October. 100% of the royalties will be donated to Occupy Sandy to support rebuilding efforts in the New York City area and the Sandy Storyline project.
The hardbound 8×8″ book contains around 100 images taken by photographers including Benjamin Lowy, Stephen Wilkes, Richard Renaldi, Hank Willis Thomas, Lyle Owerko, Wyatt Gallery, Ruddy Roye, Craig Wetherby, and Michael Christopher Brown. Click through to see some of the photos from the book:
