Painting Robot Scales Walls To Create Giant Murals [Video]

Climbing vertical surfaces is something of a challenge for human beings, which is exactly why one company developed a robot capable of climbing walls, and going for a walk on buildings.

The Vertwalker was created by Sonice Development, and in this particular example it’s been equipped with a marker that allows it to draw scattered lines as it easily manoeuvres itself along a vertical wall.

Constructed with foam boards, sensors and custom electronics to help it move freely on any wall, the robot is currently on display for the Red Never Follows‘ exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery London until september 1st 2013.
