The future of gaming is a multi-faceted area of our culture. Oftentimes developments happen so fast that it’s difficult to imagine what consoles and gaming communities will look like. That’s partly why three students from Hyper Island‘s program in the UK have envisioned what the future of sports gaming might look like. Magnus Blikeng, Mathieu Lacaze, and Carl Hutschenreuther created a video that works to show how gamers can interact with sports games through physical motions and connected devices.
The creators, who were were inspired by PSFK’s Future of Gaming report, contend that:
This is how we envision the future of sports video games. With the developing technologies such as Kinect and other motion detectors, we believe that gaming can become a true replication of the experience players have on the field – Whether you are a beginner or a professional player.
While the replication is hypothetical, it conveys opportunities particularly for brands looking to capitalize on health and fitness trends.
