The online giant will be adding better visual effects to its product descriptions to boost its clothing site.
Dedicated to enhancing the fashion portion of its site, the online giant officially opened its 40,000 square foot photo and video studio in Williamsburg, Brookyln on Friday. Amazon has been targeting the fashion industry for the past few years, and believes this new facility will strengthen its presence in the apparel category. The new studio will serve as a place to shoot and edit images of models and editorials for the company.
According to Amazon, the 26 photo and video bays inside the glass studio can produce more than 19,000 images a day. These new catalog-ready photos will make products shots for Amazon Fashion look less like stock photography. Actual models will be replacing mannequins and hangers during photo shoots to create a more lookbook feel. Amazon is working to improve their fashion site image and increase the amount of exposure for their products.
The online giant leased the studio more than a year ago, but the recent opening marks an important milestone for Amazon, proving that the company is always on the lookout for new ways to do business and new industries to invest in.
