As part of their campaign to promote the “art of manufacturing,” Honda released the design data of five of their concept models.
Following on the heels of Porsche, who recently provided the data of their Cayman S model for at-home 3D printing, Honda is also making public the design data for five of its cars. In this iteration, Honda is making the data of five concept cars available for the home 3D printing and car enthusiast, to promote their ‘art of manufacturing’ campaign.
Honda says it hopes the 3D printing project will give users a a feel for what it’s like to manufacture a car.
The freely available design are of old concept cars from the past twenty years. Honda is also encouraging people to customize the cars and even make improvements on the designs before printing, hoping to inspire future car designers.
