SharePractice is a platform where physicians can rate the effectiveness of medical solutions.
Designed to give doctors access to a database of knowledge, SharePractice is a free platform where physicians can share their knowledge and experience, as well as comment and consult about different treatments.
SharePractice was co-founded by Dr. Andrew Brandeis who is the current CEO. When he was in medical school, he and another student shared a Dropbox account where they stored stuff they learned from their teachers. Even after he graduated and started practicing medicine, he still referred to that account. In addition, he kept in touch with mentors for advice. He realized that there should be a better way to share information among doctors. He got the idea for SharePractice from using Yelp.
Dr. Brandeis founded the company with Dr. Benoit Carrier. They came out with the app late last year and to date there are over 5,000 health care professionals using SharePractice. The platform contains about 3,500 crowdsourced treatments, which includes non-FDA approved treatments. According to a post on Co.Exist, the company plans to add all FDA-approved treatment for them in the next few weeks.
SharePractice is currently available for the iPhone, but the company is working on the web version and a version for Android.
