Kodak's Smartphone Is Inspired By A Retro Camera
Ektra is an Android phone with a powerful lens aimed at photographers
Kodak has recently announced its latest phone, the Ektra, which combines Android technology with a powerful lens that is incapsulated in a beautiful, stylish casing.
The phone looks more like a retro film camera as the design is inspired by Kodak's iconic camera of the same name. The original Ektra camera was introduced in 1941 and was considered advanced in terms of its design and technology at the time.
The Ektra smartphone is designed with photographers in mind, rather than the mass market. The gadget will be manufactured by UK electronics company Bullitt Group, which is known for making rugged smartphones and accessories for CAT and Land Rover. Bullitt told Wired that camera combines “timeless Kodak simplicity with the freedom to capture, shape and share every moment.”
