The forthcoming electric SUV derives its DNA from a supercar, with the efficiency of an EV

Jaguar's decision to compete in the Formula E, essentially an electrically powered version of Formula 1 might have been interpreted as a marketing effort. Jaguar had revealed no plans to produce a consumer electric vehicle. So last year's announcement of participation in EV racing at a factory level didn't have any connection to their road cars. Until now.

Debuting at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show is the I-PACE Concept, an all-electric performance SUV. I know you see the word ‘concept' in the name and are already thinking this won't be real. But Jaguar intends to debut the production model a year from now in late 2017 and it will go on sale in early 2018.
