Google Amsterdam posted a video of the unique technology as an April Fools Day prank

As an April Fools’ Day gag, Google Amsterdam produced a video about a self-driving bicycle which enables cyclists to freely do other things while they ride through the city.

The video starts off by showing how popular riding cycling around Amsterdam is and that the rate of bicycle related injuries remains high. Wanting to combat this, Google Amsterdam introduces the self-driving bicycle, designed to stand on its own, ride and stop on its own accord. The video even recommends that younger kids ride it in order to give parents a break throughout the day.

The original video did not state it was an April Fools’ Day joke. Google then posted a ‘making of’ video to show it was a gag. Check it out below:
