To help eliminate waste, this solar-powered mobile upcycling machine called Trashpresso will turn fabric and plastic waste into usable floor tiles within minutes

If a coffee machine can instantly make a delicious serving of espresso, the Trashpresso can easily make floor tiles from trash. This mobile up-cycling plant has already started its mission in a few towns in China.

Actor Jackie Chan doesn’t only fight bad guys in his movies; he has made it a personal mission to fight trash as well! In partnership with MINIWIZ CO., the portable and solar-powered Trashpresso is the ideal solution to recycling in China’s isolated communities.

The machine easily fits inside a 40-feet container and can simply be moved around with a truck to different isolated towns. Once Trashpresso arrives in its designated location, it gets to work by washing, shredding, melting, and molding plastic and fabric waste, turning them into tiles that can be used for both indoor and outdoor flooring. For each tile, there are five plastic bottles used and Trashpresso can make 108 sq ft. of tiles every 40 minutes.
