The Visual Analytics for Sense-Making in Criminal Intelligence Analysis (VALCRI) is a dual-screen device made to understand criminal minds better

Criminal behavior has long piqued the interest of the public. An EU project called Visual Analytics for Sense-Making in Criminal Intelligence Analysis, or VALCRI, is planning to get to the bottom of it all using artificial intelligence and a lot of data processing.

The European Commission-funded project processes anonymized criminal records and data sets on social and legal statistics. To present the results from such a complicated AI analysis, VALCRI takes a graphical approach, allowing users to quickly process information and come to conclusions. The project is quick to point out that the system will not arrive at conclusions; instead, it will be a powerful tool for human detectives and law enforcement to use. It sounds like a step toward RoboCop, disclaimer notwithstanding.
