Amtrak Partners With Lyft For First And Last Mile Trip Service
The partnership helps riders travel to and from Amtrak stations where public transit may be harder to locate
Amtrak riders will now have another option when it comes time to make the first or last leg of their journey. The railroad company announced this week that it has partnered with rideshare service Lyft to let rail passengers book cars directly from the Amtrak app.
New users of Lyft will receive $5 off each of their first four Lyft rides by using the promo code AMTRAKLYFT. Lyft operates in more than 360 communities across the U.S., covering 80% of the U.S. population and reaching 97% of Amtrak riders, according to the company. The partnership will help Amtrak riders ensure a seamless end-to-end travel experience.
“We are focused on improving the customer experience, and this is one way we are working to make your entire journey as seamless and enjoyable as possible,” Jason Molfetas, Amtrak Executive Vice President of Marketing, said in a press release.
Amtrak, which operates in 48 U.S. states, says the new offering is “just the beginning” of what’s to come and that the two companies plan to build upon their newly minted partnership.
