Two people with WT2 earpieces can communicate with one another verbally, even if they don't speak the same language

Timekettle, a technology company specializing in translation, created a pair of earpieces called WT2 that allows two people who don’t understand the same language to engage verbally in conversation.

When two people who don’t speak the same language wish to communicate to each other, they each put in one of the earpieces. The earpieces connect into a iOS app that translates what either person says during the conversation in real time. As one person speaks in their language, the other person hears it through their earpiece, translated into the language they understand. It takes about three seconds for the translation to process.

The current prototype of WT2 only translates from English to Mandarin Chinese, but Timekettle plans to incorporate additional languages in the future. The company will launch a Kickstarter campaign for WT2 sometime in August.
