The Veil Brewing Company takes a classic combination to the next level

Chicken and beer is a classic combination, but one company has taken the idea a step further (perhaps too far?) by combining the two into a single product. This week The Veil Brewing Company, based in Virginia, announced the debut of Fried Fried Chicken Chicken beer, which contains a small amount of real fried chicken.

Created in partnership with Brooklyn-based Evil Twin Brewing, Fried Fried Chicken Chicken is a double dry hopped IPA-style brew that is 8% alcohol by volume. According to its makers, the brew doesn't actually taste like chicken, which may come as either a relief or a disappointment depending on your taste buds.

“The idea came to us after eating a significant amount of fried chicken at various establishments in our beautiful city of Richmond,” The Veil Brewing Co. wrote in a post on Facebook. “It doesn't even remotely taste like chicken. If you think it does, you might want to go to the doctor bucko!”

Fried Fried Chicken Chicken is available in limited quantities and retails at $18.50 for a four-pack. The beer is also available on draft at the Veil's Richmond taproom.
